Day 1: Arrive in Mexico. Buenos dias Mexico City! A taxi will pick you up from the airport to the hotel where you’ll meet the gang and get excited together about your Mexican adventure before heading out for tacos and drinks!

Day 2: Mexico City. MC is a heck of a place to kick off the trip. Take a tour of the Chapulta Castle and explore the Historic Centre before a free afternoon. This evening, we will indulge in a delicious dinner and then experience an amazing traditional show with dancing and music  Get to know the city’s incredible nightlife after sundown – tequila anybody?

Day 3: Puebla and Oaxaca. Adios Mexico City – we’re Puebla bound. Practice your bartering in the artisan markets, grab something delish from the street stalls and check out the colonial architecture. After lunch, we’re off again – to Mexico’s culinary capital – Oaxaca.

Day 4: Oaxaca and Tehuantepec. We start the day by visiting a local food market to learn about the history of the region Oaxaca. Spend today exploring this bohemian city. We’ll visit the textile family before visiting a traditional mezcal distillery. Then we’re making our way to Tehuantepec for the evening. 

Day 5: Sumidero Canyon & San Cristobal de las Casas. Today’s first stop is a real looker – we’re taking a boat cruise into the Canyon of Sumidero (think lush jungle, tumbling waterfalls and amazing caves). Later we’ll continue into the mountains to the colonial town of San Cristobal de las Casas.

Day 6: San Cristobal de las Casas. Start your day with a visit to some local indigenous communities to learn about their way of life. Then head back to San Cristobal for an afternoon of wandering the cobbled streets, exploring markets and sipping drinks in historic squares.

Day 7: Caribbean Cancún. This morning we’ll leave San Cristobal’s vibrant architecture behind in search of natural wonders. A short included flight takes us to the renowned Yucatán peninsula, where you’ll find beaches, nightlife and Mayan ruins galore. But first, it’s time to relax by the pool in shimmering Cancún and order whichever cocktail speaks to you the most.
 
Day 8: Life’s a beach. Our next location is the sundrenched, sandy daydream that is Isla Holbox. Escape into a world of colour, from the crystal white sand beaches and enchanting orange sunsets to rainbow hammocks, electrifying urban murals and lush palm trees.
 
Day 9: Island adventure. Dress in your best bathing suit because we’re taking a boat tour to all of Isla Holbox’s top photography spots. From iconic pink flamingos to hidden gems scattered around the world, today we’ll get a wider perspective of Isla Holbox. If you’ve ever wanted to explore a cenote before, today we’ll make it happen.
 
Day 10: Sunrise and siestas. It’s an early rise this morning for one last moment to remember in Isla Holbox: the extraordinary sunrise. Good times are ahead in Playa Del Carmen, our final base for Mexico Adventure. It’s an amazing point of travel to Yucatán’s top attractions, but Playa Del Carmen is still a world of its own - and we’ll arrive in plenty of time to discover beaches, restaurants and more.
 
Day 11: Chichén Itzá. Are you ready to see one of the World’s Seven Wonders? Today’s a major bucket list moment, and it’s not your average visit either. We’ll be led by a local guide who knows all the myths, sights and secrets behind this mysterious attraction. Cool off this afternoon with a trip to another attraction exclusive to Mexico; this time it’s swimming inside an enchanting, all encompassing cenote!
 
Day 12: Tulum. With spectacular beaches, walled city secrets and a bohemian chic feeling, it’s no surprise that Tulum is a favourite destination for so many. Today you have the opportunity to explore the archaeological awe that is the Tulum Ruins, set just above the beckoning ocean. This evening we’ll go for a final group dinner and drinks in celebration of our Mexico Adventure!
 
Day 13: End trip. Our incredible time together in Mexico has come to an end. Exchange numbers with travel amigos and check out this morning. Whether you’re heading back home, staying for longer in Playa Del Carmen or continuing your Central America travels, we’re available to help you plan your next step.

This trip kicks off in Mexico City (MEX) and we’d recommend that you arrive on the actual start date. There are no activities planned on the first day, so you can arrive at a time that suits you. If you arrive before the start date, we can help you book extra nights of accommodation (at an additional cost). Whether you arrive on day 1 or earlier, we’ll meet you from the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

The trip ends on day 13 in Playa Del Carmen. The closest airport is Cancun International, which is about an hour away by taxi or bus (return transfers are not included). If you’re staying on in Mexico, your group leader can help with any onward travel options or additional accommodation. Please leave plenty of time to get to the airport for your flight.

Accommodation:

12 nights’ accommodation is included on this trip. All rooms are twin or triple share with an ensuite. You’ll spend:

2 nights in Mexico City - colourful and centrally located hotel which is still quiet and cosy
1 night in Oaxaca - comfortable hotel with interior garden and ideal location
1 night in Tehuantepec - spacious hotel with two pools
2 nights in San Cristobal De Las Casas - vibrant and beautiful hotel in the city centre
1 night in Cancún - tropical hotel with a pool and gym
2 nights in Isla Holbox - stunning beachfront hotel with a pool
3 nights in Playa Del Carmen - a comfortable hotel with a great location and pool

Meals:

This trip includes 12 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 1 dinner. You’ll have to buy the rest of the meals yourself, meaning it’s a great opportunity to explore Mexico’s world famous food scene. From tacos to tostadas, enchiladas, chilaquiles and more, there’s so many delightful options for travellers to choose from.

You’ll need to be a minimum of 18 years old to take part in this tour. This tour is designed for those aged 18-35. 

If you’re a British citizen, you don’t need a visa to enter Mexico as a tourist. Immigration officials may ask to see proof of departure plans, booked accommodation and / or funds to cover your stay in Mexico.Your passport must be valid for at least 180 days after your entry.
