Day 1: Start in Oslo
Meet your group and trip leader today at 4pm in Oslo, Norway's captivating capital. After everyone's said "Hei", we're going to get to know Oslo better on an orientation tour around the city. In no time, you'll fall head-over-heels for this laidback yet exciting city - from its Viking history to epic city highlights and the mountains and baby fjord just in the distance. When your trip leader has let you in on everything there is to know - including where to find Oslo's best seafood - you're all set up for an evening of free exploration with your group!
Day 2: Oslo to Tromsø
Today we'll take a train to the airport and fly out of Oslo to reach Tromsø: a winter wonderland city and the ultimate gateway for the Arctic Circle. To get you settled into this breathtaking destination, we'll take an orientation tour around Tromsø's vibrant waterfront and shimmering streets. Then the evening is free for you to explore the nightlife!
Day 3: Tromsø
Today you're welcome to do your own thing, or you can join in on two optional activities: an Arctic safari boat tour where you explore a fjord and have the chance to spot humpback whales. You will also have the option to join an Indigenous Sámi culture experience where you will feed reindeer and enjoy a traditional dinner! From sipping hot drinks around the fire to learning about Sámi cultural customs and meeting the adorable reindeer, tonight is a unique privilege to experience what life's like near the magnificent Arctic Circle!
Day 4: Mountains and sailing
Enjoy a free morning in Tromsø, which you can easily fill with snowshoeing or snowmobiling. In the early afternoon, we'll ride a cable car to the Storsteinen mountain ledge for a legendary view of Tromsø's glistening white-and-gold cityscape. The excitement is high later as we board the ship and start sailing in search of the extraordinary auroras!
Day 5: Honningsvag
As the boat gently sails further north, take in wintery scenery like the misty Magerøysund and the secluded town Hammerfest. And that's not even all of it; we'll pass the coast of Lapland, ancient Sámi sites and other natural wonders. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive northern lights; it's going to be a late one, but the cups of coffee and amazing company make the time fly by!
Day 6: Kirkenes
Today we'll reach our final port on this phenomenal voyage. After arrival in Kirkenes, you can either take some free time to explore or catch your dinner this evening with an optional King crab fishing experience. Gigantic sea crabs are famous for their sweet and subtle flavour; they're likened to lobster, but you've never tried anything quite like it!
Day 7: Kirkenes to Oslo
This morning we'll make the most of our time in Kirkenes by exploring its historical monuments, before heading to the airport for a short flight to Oslo. Whether you're in the mood for a chilled evening or want to experience lively nightlife, there's something for everyone in Oslo. It's a Norwegian tradition to go out later after a vorspiel (pre-party), so heading out after 10pm for a party with the local people is highly recommended.
Day 8: End trip in Oslo
What a magical week it's been - sailing the Arctic Circle, searching for the auroras and socialising with your incredible group, trip leader and all the local people! There no activities today so you can depart at any time after breakfast.
