Day 1: Arrive in Las Vegas. Welcome to Vegas baby! We’re staying in a glitzy casino hotel in the heart of the strip. Dump your bags and throw yourself into the excitement and the excess of Sin City. This evening, meet your group in the hotel bar and head out for dinner before dancing the night away.

Day 2: Las Vegas. Chill by the pool this morning, before our fabulous Vegas tour this afternoon. We’ll show you all the highlights of the unique city, including the iconic Vegas sign, and the Arts District. This evening, go large – what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Day 3: Las Vegas to Williams. Leave Sin City behind today and head into the desert on the one and only Route 66! Stops include the Hoover Dam, the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, Locomotive Park in Kingsman, and retro Seligman, before arriving in Williams.

Day 4: The Grand Canyon. Get ready for a big tick on your bucket-list. We’re heading into the Grand Canyon. Hike into the Canyon, stop to take some epic selfies, and soak up your surroundings. After the most amazing day, watch the sunset before heading back for s’mores round the campfire.

Day 5: The Grand Canyon to Vegas. Start the day like a local with a cup of steaming coffee and a slice of American pie, before having a go at axe-throwing! Then fire some handguns with an optional visit to a shooting range before we head back to Vegas.

Day 6: Las Vegas to LA. Hop on the bus to La-La Land. We’re headed to the laid-back beach neighbourhood of Santa Monica where we’ll spend the afternoon on the boardwalk before hitting the Santa Monica Pier for the famous arcade challenge!

Day 7: Los Angeles. Start the day on Sunset Boulevard where we’ll spot our favourite stars on the Walk of Fame before a classic California burger lunch. This evening, take a hike through Griffiths Park to the Observatory.

Day 8: Theme parks or trip end. If you’re a theme park fan, today’s optional activities are right up your street with Universal Studios and Disneyland on the menu! Or if you’d like to give something back to the city, how about a volunteering experience? If you’re on the 8-day tour, your trip ends this afternoon.

Day 9: LA beach volleyball. Spend the morning at your leisure. Ride the rollers with an optional surf lesson, rent a paddleboard, or just chill on Malibu beach. This afternoon we’ll meet up for a private beach volleyball class with a professional coach before a last night out in LA.

Day 10: Yosemite. We’ve got an early start on the cards today but it’s totes worth it as we head to the majestic Yosemite National Park! Spend the night in a mountain resort complete with dinner at the June Bug Café.

Day 11: Yosemite. We’ve lined up an unforgettable day of guided hiking with a Yosemite mountain guide. You’ll see all the park’s best bits including El Capitan, Half Dome, and home of the mighty redwoods, Sequoia grove! Tonight, enjoy another evening back at our mountain resort.

Day 12: Yosemite to San Francisco. Travel to boho San Francisco today. Take a cable-car for a bird’s eye view of the city before checking out Chinatown and North Beach on a scenic stroll. Dine in Chinatown tonight at the legendary House of Nanking before checking out the nightlife.

Day 13: San Francisco. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge on bikes today on the way to charming Sausalito where we’ll stop off at Joinery Beerhall for lunch. Head back to town by ferry and enjoy a free afternoon. Hit Pier 39 for a spot of shopping or explore the hippy Haight-Ashbury hood.

Day 14: Trip end. Round off your trip with an optional visit to the infamous island prison of Alcatraz. Then it’s time to say goodbye to your new friends and either head to the airport or continue your travels.

Arrival

The trip kicks off on day 1 in Las Vegas. Arrive in Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and make your way to your starting hotel on the strip. It’s a short taxi ride to the strip and there are plenty of taxis outside the airport. There’s also a shuttle service which is cheaper, but slower. There are no activities planned today, so arrive at a time that suits you.

Departure

Depending on which option you’ve taken, the trip either ends on day 8 in Los Angeles, or day 14 in San Francisco. You can make your way to the relevant airport, choose to stay on longer in whichever city you’re in, or continue your travels around America.

Both the 8 and 14 day trips finish in the afternoon, so we’d recommend that you arrange an additional night of accommodation and fly out the following day.

For the 14 day tour please note that if you do not book the optional 'Alcatraz Tour', your trip will end in the morning.

Your group leader can help with additional accommodation requirements and any onward travel options.
