Day 1: Moshi. Arrive at any time today and make your way to your accommodation in Moshi. Meet your group and guide this evening to discuss the adventure ahead!

Day 2: Moshi to Mti Mkubwa Camp. Today is our first day of hiking and we’ll start the Lemosho trail by walking through the rainforest covered lower slopes of the mountain - keep an eye out for the local wildlife! We’ll end the day at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Campsite. 3-4 hours hiking.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp. Make the steep climb out of the rainforest and into the moorland over the Shira ridge, before descending into tonight’s campsite, Shira 1, which is perfectly located next to a stream. 5-6 hours hiking.

Day 4: Acclimatisation Day. Today is our acclimatisation day where we will travel across the Shira plateau with a number of short acclimatisation walks. Tonight we stay at Shira 2 camp. 3-4 hours hiking.

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp. Ascend through the rocky terrain to the Lava Tower, before descending again to help with acclimatisation. Take your time and go slowly (“pole pole” as your guide will tell you), as the route starts to become more challenging and steep. You’ll be rewarded for your efforts with the beautiful views from tonight’s campsite, Barranco Camp. 5-6 hours hiking.

Day 6 – Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp. Today we take on the Great Barranco Wall and head up into the alpine desert of the Karanga Valley. You’ll pass below the Heim Glacier, where you’ll encounter some epic views of Kili! 4-5 hours hiking.

Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp. Trek through the alpine desert as we make our way up to Barafu Camp, which is on a narrow ridge with spectacular views of the Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. Rest up before our 11pm wakeup call! 3-4 hours hiking.

Day 8: Summit Day. Start your summit day with a snack and warm drink before we make our way up to Stella Point, in time for a truly unforgettable sunrise. From there we continue on, up the snow-covered trail to our ultimate goal, Uhuru Peak. We’ve made it to the Roof of Africa! Celebrate your accomplishment with your fellow hikers, before beginning the descent. We end today at Mweka Camp. 11-14 hours hiking (with breaks!).

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Moshi. Today is the final descent, back through the lower, forested slopes. Take part in a climbing ceremony with some local mamas back in Moshi. 4-5 hours hiking.

Day 10: Moshi. Depart at any time today.
