Get away from the tourist track on this fantastic 9-day tour in Indonesia. Explore remote islands and untouched beaches that are off the beaten track and gain a unique insight into local ways of life. Starting in laidback Lombok, you'll spend time soaking up the sunshine and friendly atmosphere, and even visit a Sasak village to find out more about the local community. From Lombok, you’ll travel to serene Sumbawa and Moyo Island and then take to the waves on board our very own private boat. Enjoy three days of sailing, snorkelling and sleeping at sea, and see manta rays and komodo dragons up close. This 9-day adventure takes you to unspoilt Indonesian islands and beaches that are only just being discovered by western travellers. There are limited western amenities and very few restaurants and backpacker bars, so this is a truly off-the-beaten track experience. Often, your tour group will be the only tourists on the islands – an amazing privilege!
Itinerary
Day 1: Kuta, Lombok. Enjoy your surroundings and relax at the accommodation's pool before meeting up with the rest of the group for a welcome meal this evening.
Day 2: Sasak Village. Discover local culture this morning with a visit to a local Sasak village. Afterwards, you’ll go on an afternoon trek through the beautiful jungle, stopping at the local falls to take a dip in the cool waters.
Day 3: Lombok Beach Combing. Spend the day checking out Lombok's sublime beaches. Lie back on the sands and soak up the sun, then cool off with a dip in the sea, or get involved with surfing or snorkeling.
Day 4: Lombok to Sumbawa. Today you’ll explore further east, taking a ferry from Lombok to the golden shores of Sumbawa. Spend the afternoon relaxing on this quiet, unspoilt island.
Day 5: Moyo Island. Heading out to sea again, you’ll make the journey to Moyo, where you'll spend an incredible day touring the island with a local guide. Discover picturesque beaches, beautiful forests, and gorgeous waterfalls that very few western tourists have ever laid eyes on!
Day 6: Satonda Island. Board a private live-aboard boat for 3 days of sailing adventures. Sail to Satonda Island and stop off for a snorkelling session to take a closer look at some incredible underwater marine life. Later on, enjoy a delicious dinner on board the boat before bedding down in your group dorm.
Day 7: Padar Island. Make your way over to Padar Island and step ashore onto Pink Beach, aptly named for its unusual pink sand. Hike up to Padar viewpoint for some exceptional views.
Day 8: Komodo Island & Flores. Enjoy a hearty breakfast on deck this morning before jumping into the sea and spending a morning swimming and snorkelling with manta rays. Then drop anchor at Komodo Island and find the island's famous resident dragons. Enjoy a farewell group meal this evening.
Day 9: Farewell. Day 9 marks the end of this incredible Indonesian island tour, so check out of the accommodation and make your way to the airport (the closest airport is Labuan Bajo, around 20 minutes' drive from the hotel). Your tour guide will be able to help you book transport.

You can arrive at any time but we recommend arriving before 6pm. An airport transfer is included and you will be met at the airport and taken to your accommodation in Kuta, where you can relax and meet the rest of your group.
You can arrive up to two days in advance of your itinerary start date and still take up the inclusive transfer if you book extra nights' accommodation with us. If you'd like to arrive before your itinerary start date, please let us know in advance.
Your tour ends on day 9 on the island of Flores, the nearest airport is Labuan Bajo, which is around 20 minutes' drive from your accommodation. A return airport transfer is not included but your guide can help arrange this for you, and you can depart at any time.
Accommodation
8 nights’ accommodation is included in this trip. As these parts of Indonesia are only just being discovered by western travellers, there are very few hotels set up for tourists. Accommodation mostly consists of twin share guesthouse accommodation with the added bonus of air-conditioning and the use of an onsite swimming pool. In Lombok, your accommodation will be in the form of a basic but clean and convenient hotel, in Sumbawa you’ll stay in a lovely hotel right by the beach!
During the 3-day boat trip, you’ll get to spend two nights on board in a large dorm-style room with the rest of the group.
You’ll finish your trip on the island of Flores, where your accommodation, in the town of Labuan Bajo, at an amazing backpacker accommodation, again with its own pool, and is located right on the beach with awesome views over the sea.
Meals
Most of your meals aren’t included on this trip, which will give you the opportunity to try out a whole host of delicious Indonesian cuisine at a variety of fantastic local diners and restaurants. You will however, be fed and watered for the duration of the live-aboard boat trip, where the crew will prepare fresh food for you. Breakfast will typically consist of pancakes and fresh fruit with a selection of tasty local dishes for lunch, and a variety of noodles, tempeh, sticky rice, and vegetable dishes for dinner. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements when you book.
This trip is designed for travellers aged 18-39.
British visitors arriving in Indonesia will be issued with a visa on arrival, valid for a stay of up to 30 days, for a cost of approximately £25. You must have a passport with at least 6 months' validity from your arrival date.
If you wish to stay in Indonesia for longer than 30 days, you will no longer be able to extend your visa in-country, so you will need to apply for a 60-day tourist/social visa in advance of travel. Visa rules and regulations are subject to change. Please check the relevant embassy websites for up to date information.
