Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi. Bustling markets, locals slurping noodles, incense, and the non-stop buzz of motorbikes - welcome to Hanoi! We’ll pick you up and take you to your hotel in the heart of the city, where you can either relax, or head out to explore.
Day 2: Explore Hanoi. Explore the charming chaos of Hanoi’s Old Quarter today, with a walking and rickshaw tour. Wander down maze-like lanes, past temples, shops and ancient banyan trees. Pick up some pho for lunch and don’t miss the “36 Streets” for some epic souvenirs. Tonight, we’ll party hard with the Hanoians.
Day 3: Hanoi to Sapa. Feel the temperature drop as we head into the misty hills of Sapa. Trek through Muong Hoa Valley, one of the most stunning landscapes in Vietnam, past emerald rice-fields and craggy mountains.
Day 4: Sapa trekking. Get ready for another day’s hiking through terraced hills and local villages. This afternoon, we’ll whizz you back to Sapa where you can take a post-trek chill in our riverside hotel, before heading out for some bun cha and a bia hoi.
Day 5: Sapa to Hanoi. Today’s yours to spend in Sapa. Have a coffee with a view at the Café in the Clouds, pick up some handicrafts at the market, or rent a pedal boat on Sapa Lake. Then we will take the overnight VIP bus back to Hanoi
Day 6: Ha Long Bay. There’s no two ways about it - Ha Long Bay is pretty special. We’ll be cruising on a luxury boat (with hot tubs!) which will also be our home for the night. Spend the day swimming in the sparkling water, kayaking, and soaking up the sun on deck with a drink in hand – lush.
Day 7: Ha Long Bay to Ninh Binh. Ninh Binh is gorgeous. Think Ha Long Bay on land - rice paddies, limestone karsts, winding rivers and magical caves. Watch the sun go down with a drink in hand, from your riverside bungalow this evening.
Day 8: Explore Ninh Binh. Hop on a bike and pedal through the rice paddies to the river, where we’ll take a rowboat down the river through some fantastical caves. Next up, get ready to sweat as we climb the 450 steps to Dragon Mountain Viewpoint – trust us, the views are worth it. We will take the comfortable overnight train to Hoi An.
Day 9: Hoi An. Check out the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese shop-houses and the food market, and get measured for some custom-made clothes at a tailor. After dark the buildings light up with colourful Chinese lanterns – beautiful.
Day 10: Hoi An & around. Try your hand at crab-catching in a traditional basket boat. Then sizzle up a storm at a Vietnamese cooking class. Have a free afternoon to relax before checking out Hoi An’s foodie scene, so make sure you don’t skip dinner!
Day 11: Hoi An beach day. This morning participate in a lantern making class before hopping on your bicycle and heading for the local beach club. Stay for a sundown dinner and drinks with a view.
Day 12: Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City / 12 day trip end. If you book the 12 day trip, your journey ends here in Hoi An. If you book the 15 day option, then grab a window seat and buckle up. We’re taking the short flight to the fizzing whirlwind that is Ho Chi Minh City. We’ll head straight out to the markets for dinner and then to a rooftop bar.
Day 13: Mekong Delta. Slow it down in the watery world of the Mekong Delta. It’s all about the river life here, with floating markets, buffalos and mangrove forests. Spend the night in our riverside accommodation.
Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City. Get ready for an amazing history lesson as we go deep underground into the Cu Chi Tunnels, which were used by guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War. It’s our final evening together, so go large with a last dinner and drinks with the gang.
Day 15: Trip end. And it’s over. What an epic two weeks.Swap details with the former strangers, who are now friends for life, and plan where you’ll meet next year.
