Day 2: Bright Lights, Hanoi City. Launch yourself into the craziness of Vietnam’s capital city in a rickshaw. See the sights, meet the locals and munch on some street food. Head out for dinner and drinks later, in some of the city’s hottest spots.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay cruise. Board our traditional Vietnamese junk boat and sail into beautiful Ha Long Bay. Drink in the gorgeous landscapes, go caving and sea kayaking and spend tonight drinking and eating under the stars before being rocked to sleep by the waves in your cosy cabin.
Day 4: Ha Long to Ninh Binh. Our destination today is stunning Ninh Binh, referred to as ‘Ha Long Bay inland’ because of its dramatic limestone scenery. Gaze out on a sea of rice paddies and mountains from your riverside homestay as you raise a sundowner.
Day 5: Ninh Binh. Join a bicycle tour through the countryside, then hop on a boat and glide along gentle rivers and caves. After lunch, ascend the 450 steps of Dragon Mountain Viewpoint and prepare for a magical sunset before an overnight train to Danang.
Day 6: Hoi An. Wake as the train rolls into Da Nang and take the short bus ride to historic Hoi An. Explore the ochre-tone streets, wander around the shops, and market stalls or simply gaze out over the waterways. After the sun goes down, enjoy a lively evening in this World Heritage Site.
Day 7: Hoi An crab fishing and cooking. Jump aboard a traditional basket boat and navigate rivers and coconut groves with the help of some local fishermen while attempting to catch crabs! Then learn how to whip up some tasty Vietnamese delicacies at an authentic cooking class.
Day 8: Hoi An lanterns and beach. Get crafty today with a floating lantern making class. Then take a bike ride to one of the golden beaches just outside of the town, where we’ll kick back with some time in a local beach club.
Day 9: Explore Ho Chi Minh. Take the flight to Ho Chi Minh, and spend your day really getting to grips with this charming, hectic whirlwind of a city.
Day 10: Mekong Delta. Today explore the beautiful Mekong Delta and learn first hand how locals live, visit local villages and experience daily life on the Mekong.
Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels. Discover the Cu Chi Tunnels, a sprawling network of underground passages that were used during the war. Then enjoy a last night out in the buzz of Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12: Head to Cambodia. Jump on the bus to Phnom Penh, Cambodia! When you arrive, check out your accommodation before heading out for some food and a beer with your buddies.
Day 13: S21 Prison & Killing Fields. See the best of Phnom Penh by tuk tuk. Visit the S21 Prison and the Killing Fields – an important part of understanding the history of this intriguing country.
Day 14: Kampot Kayaking. Say goodbye to the city, and head to pretty Kampot, with its crumbling colonial building, and vast pepper plantations. Cool off in the river this afternoon with some tubing and kayaking.
Day 15: Kampot Market & Cooking. Visit a market and a pepper plantation to pick up some ingredients for a Khmer cooking class, and then eat what you’ve made! In the evening, take a sunset boat cruise on the river.
Day 16: Koh Rong Sanloem Beaches. Transfer to the stunning island of Koh Rong Sanloem. Snap your friends, lazing on the white sands, and dance the night away at an awesome beach party!
Day 17: Island Boat Trip. Take a long-tail boat to the island’s best snorkel and swimming spots. Launch yourself off the boat and marvel at the brightly coloured coral and tropical fish.
Day 18: Chill & Travel. Relax on the beach this morning, then board the ferry back to the mainland. After dinner, board the overnight sleeper bus that’ll take you up to Siem Reap.
Day 19: Siem Reap Floating Villages. Arrive in Siem Reap and spend the morning unwinding by the hotel pool. Later, visit Siem Reap’s traditional floating villages, surrounded by lotus flowers and flooded forests.
